DriveWarden is a desktop application for backing up and synchronising your own files between your own drives — and, if you choose, to a remote server of your own. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: the app has no accounts, telemetry, analytics or advertising, Kick Technic operates no servers and receives none of your data, and DriveWarden connects to the network only for the purposes described below.

What DriveWarden stores on your device

All of the following is stored only on your PC and is never transmitted to Kick Technic:

• Your jobs — jobs.json in %LocalAppData%\DriveWarden, describing the folders you pair up and the options you choose for each.
• Settings — settings.json in %LocalAppData%\DriveWarden (your theme/accent and which versions of the terms you have accepted).
• Logs — a small activity/error log in %LocalAppData%\DriveWarden\logs, kept to help you diagnose problems. It records file paths and operations on your machine; it is never sent anywhere.
• Reports — a detailed record of each run in %LocalAppData%\DriveWarden\reports, listing the files that were copied, removed or skipped on your machine.
• Secrets — if you set up a remote backup, its password is stored in the Windows Credential Manager (the operating system's own credential vault, per-user), never in jobs.json. The signing key for the optional integrity-proof feature is stored the same way. You can inspect or remove these yourself in Control Panel → Credential Manager.

Your files

DriveWarden's whole job is to copy (and, where you choose, remove) your files between the source and backup/peer locations you select. Those copies live wherever you point the app at — they are your data, under your control. DriveWarden does not send your files, file names, or folder contents to Kick Technic. If you set up a remote backup, your files go to the server you nominated, and nowhere else.

What leaves your device

Only what you ask it to. DriveWarden has no user accounts or sign-in, no telemetry, analytics, usage tracking or crash reporting, no advertising or advertising identifiers, and no automatic background "phone-home" or update check (updates come through the Microsoft Store).

It makes network connections in these cases:

• Remote backups you set up. If you create a Cloud job, DriveWarden connects to the SFTP, WebDAV or S3 endpoint you specify, using the address and credentials you entered, to transfer your files. Kick Technic operates no servers, is not a party to that connection, and receives nothing.
• Buying DriveWarden. The purchase is handled by the Microsoft Store, under Microsoft's privacy policy. Kick Technic never sees or receives your payment details.
• Checking your licence. Windows tells DriveWarden whether this copy is licensed, through the Microsoft Store's own licensing service. The app checks when it starts, and the background agent re-checks roughly every 15 minutes while it is running, so that a purchase takes effect without you restarting anything. This is a call to Microsoft, not to Kick Technic; it carries no information about your files, jobs or folders, and Kick Technic receives nothing from it.

When you contact us

If you email support@kicktechnic.co.uk, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message, and we use it only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share it. This is the only circumstance in which Kick Technic Limited receives personal information from you, and it happens only because you chose to write to us.

Children

DriveWarden is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your control

Everything DriveWarden keeps is either on your PC or on a location you chose, so you control it directly: edit or delete jobs in the app, remove the backup copies from your drives, clear the log and report folders, delete a saved remote password from Control Panel → Credential Manager, or uninstall the app to remove its settings.

Changes to this policy
