MD Glance is a read-only Markdown viewer for files on your own PC. This policy explains what data the app handles. In short: your documents stay on your computer, the app has no accounts, telemetry, analytics or advertising, Kick Technic operates no servers and receives none of your data, and MD Glance reaches the network only for the purposes described below.
All of the following is stored only on your PC and is never transmitted to Kick Technic:
settings.json in %APPDATA%\MarkDownViewer: your theme, accent and language, the document palette and format, reading-mode and rendering-quality choices, window size and position, the list of recently opened file paths, remembered reading positions (a file path and how far down it you had read), and the version of the terms you have accepted.%LOCALAPPDATA%\MarkDownViewer\WebView2.%TEMP% folder, renders it, and deletes it. If the app or PC stops mid-export the file can be left behind, and you can delete it yourself.The documents you open are read from disk and are not copied, uploaded or modified — MD Glance is a viewer, not an editor. Anything you export (HTML, PDF, PNG) is written only to the location you choose in the save dialog, and anything copied to the clipboard is copied only because you asked for it.
By default, nothing. MD Glance has no user accounts or sign-in, no telemetry, analytics, usage tracking or crash reporting, no advertising or advertising identifiers, and no automatic background "phone-home" or update check — updates come through the Microsoft Store. Kick Technic operates no servers for this app.
It reaches the network only in these cases, and only at your direction:
http(s) address, that image is fetched from its host so the page can render — exactly as a web browser would. Because raw HTML in a document is also rendered in that mode, a document can likewise reference other remote resources of its own. In the default (Native) mode, and in the Windows Explorer preview pane and thumbnails, remote images are not fetched at all; only the alt text is shown.http(s) or mailto link hands it to your default browser or mail client. MD Glance itself sends nothing, and it never navigates the document view away to a remote page.Maths (KaTeX) and diagrams (Mermaid) are bundled with the app and render offline — they are never downloaded.
If you email support@kicktechnic.co.uk, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message, and we use it only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share it. This is the only circumstance in which Kick Technic Limited receives personal information from you, and it happens only because you chose to write to us.
MD Glance is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Because everything the app keeps is on your PC, you control it directly:
settings.json in %APPDATA%\MarkDownViewer to clear your preferences, recent files and reading positions, or uninstall the app to remove its settings and its rendering cache.MD Glance is published by Kick Technic Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 11925772.
